i constantly have songs stuck in my head.

usually they are my favorite songs.

sometimes they are not. hah.

tonight adam starts his second job.

he'll be working for only 2.5 weeks.

that makes me a happy wife! :]

so since he's gone i'm going to address our christmas cards.

and i'm sure my hands will be cramping by the end of the night.

but it will be so worth it!

christmas questions

a couple of days ago i stumbled upon an amazing blog.

sunny with a chance of sprinkles!

i just love her blog. 

and her daughter is a beauty. 

she posted some christmas questions and i had to steal. 

i hope others will steal from me too.

i love learning new things about people! 

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? i like egg nog but my hubby doesn't so i usually drink a glass at my mom's. but hot cocoa is a must throughout december.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? well since we don't have children right now i do all the wrapping but when we have kids most will be wrapped but a few from santa won't be.  

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? I prefer white but will probably try colored at least once.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? i don't even know where to buy misletoe. some one help a girl out. if i had some i would definitely hang it! 

5. When do you put your decorations up? the day after tgiving.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? puppy chow and cowboy cookies!

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? one year my mom wanted a white tree but my dad bought a regular tree and had my sister and i spray paint it white. it seems white trash which i guess looking at pictures it does look like it but it was a lot of fun and i will always remember it. 

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? i have no idea. probably from my older sister. 

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? my dad's side of the family does christmas on christmas eve so we opened presents from our aunts and uncles and then when we got home if we begged and begged we could open one gift. but my mom always picked it and it was usually pj's. 

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? this is the first year and we used a red and sliver theme.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? LOVE! 

12. Can you ice skate? yep. we actually went this past sunday! 

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? well besides my engagment ring! :] when i was 7 or 8 i got a my size barbie. i LOVED that thing until she fell out of my tree house and broke her neck. 

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? seeing family and celebrating jesus' birth. 

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? cookies! 

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? christmas eve service. although it's mainly just a tradition with myself.

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? i love giving! it's so fun to find the perfect gift for someone!

Ten on Tuesday!

so i've been doing miss mommy's 

ten on tuesday's for a few weeks now

and this week she is doingthe i am________right now.

thing that a lot of blogs have been doing lately! 

i've been meaning to do a post like this for awhile now.

i also have been thinking about doing an accent vlog.

i'm a little nervous though. we'll see if it happens. hahaha.

anyways....

I am _____ right now:
I am - sleepy...i haven't been able to sleep in lately.I wonder - what god has in store for adam and i. I see - the good in people and always give the benefit of the doubt.I want - to go back to school and get a degree. i hate feeling like i don't have a real job. I pretend - that i'm okay a lot. i try to hide how homesick i really am.I worry - about all the memories i'm missing out on since i'm 800 miles away from my family and friends.I cry - a lot during the christmas season. the songs, the joy, the spirit...it's so wonderful! I hope - adam and i will have a big family one day.I dream - of being a person that impacts someone's life.I feel - excited for the christmas season!

a very random ten on tuesday

well i'm typing this today from a hospital bed. i was admitted on sunday morning for pancreatitis.
it's one of the worst pains everrrrrrrr. basically whenever i eat it upsets my pancreas and inflames it which causes me to be in severe pain. so i'm hooked up to an iv with nutrients and i'm on pain meds. they are helping but i'm still STARVING! it's been 72 hours without food. we are hoping to hear from the doctor today about all of my test results and hopefully learn what caused the pancreatitis. i have had it before and its not uncommon to get it multiple times. each time can be caused by something different. so for my ten on tuesday i will be talking about the food i wish i could be enjoying right now. ( celia you probably won't want to read this!)

1. griffs- is a small hamburger joint i think only based in tx. it has the most amazing juicy burgers and french fires. i definitely try to get one whenever i'm in tx.

2. cici's- i could really go for some alfredo pepperoni pizza. i'm a very picky pizza eater. i dont usually enjoy pizza and if i'm rarely in the mood for it. i was in the mood for it last friday and finally talked adam into going to cici's and we drove over there and they were GONE! i almost cried.

3. granny's pork chops. my favorite meal of all time would be my granny's pork chops, fried potatoes, green beans and her famous salad. oh and the best gravy ever. when i'm in town for christmas i'm hoping she will make this meal and hopefully i will learn how to make it myself. although adam doesn't like pork chops. guess this will be another thing i eat and will make the kids eat and they will love it too and he will be left out. hahah.

4. pumpkin pancakes. since it's fall ihop has their pumpkin pancakes back and they are so delicious. especially if you ask them for hot syrup.

5. dairy queen's chicken strip basket. i love their gravy and texas toast. and of course you can't go wrong with a blizzard.

6. texas road house- i love their baby blossoms! taste like chilis old awesome blossom but i think trh is better.

man i'm starving. my stomach is growlingggggg.

7. i really want an apple with some peanut butter. (see i do like some healthy food, celia :] )

8. mary ellen's tea room- my granny used to always take the girls in the family to this tea room. they closed about a year ago but they had amazing soup and lasagna.

9. a pizookie from bj's. its a huge warm chewy cookie served with ice cream on top. it's heaven!

10. cheddars has a chicken caesar pasta salad. its amazing. i'm sure it's grossly too many calories but oh so good.

well now that i'm starving i think i will go read some blogs and take my mind of food. hope everyone is having a blessed week.

happy halloween!

i love halloween and getting dressed up but the past two years we have had no where to go. so this year since we have cute lil bentley i dressed him up and made me a poor man's costume.

today is the first day i'm joining emily from the anderson crew with embrace the camera. i have been wanting to do this forever and never got around to doing so.

my webcam apparently sucks at taking pictures but oh well. bentley and i had fun taking pictures...okay maybe just i had fun but whateve. :]

Ten on Tuesday!

it's time for ten on tuesday again! i'm going to list ten things that are on my bucket list.

1. meet paula deen! i will probably pee in my pants if i ever meet her. i adore her!

2. two step with tim mcgraw...probably won't ever happen but omg if it did i would die right there!

3. read 100 books in a year. (i'm working on that now...so far i've read 43)

4. have a romantic dinner with adambear in rome!

5. start a family <3

6. visit all 50 states. (think i've visited 20 or something)

7. read the entire bible.

8. cook every recipe in a cookbook...will probably be a paula deen book.

9. write a letter every day for a month. i started this in june and got to like day 15. so close!

10. own a zebra! hahaha i hope we retire out in the country.

time for a photo dump update of bentley! i'm sure my mom will be ecstatic. she can't wait to meet her granndpuppy in november. she's going to come spend a week with us for thanksgiving!

he already has a few favorite lovies as i call them...

Ten on Tuesday!

it's that time again! this week seems like it is going to go by very slow! i'm already ready for the weekend. :[ so for my ten on tuesday i'm going to list some of my favorite shows. i'm sooooo excited that fall shows are back on!

1. one tree hill- this is by far my FAVORITE show. i'm a weirdo and feel like the cast is really my friends. haha.

2. castle- i recently got into this show and watched all of the seasons.

3. gossip girl- this was a show that i never planned on liking. but one night i was bored and watched an episode and was hooked.

4. glee- hands down this show is amazing! i miss living in texas and having glee watching partys. :]

5. grey's anatomy- lovelovelove! if you don't like this show mcsteamy is reason enough to sit through this show! mmmhmmm.

6. 90210- this one is also one i never thought i would like but after watching an episode i was hooked. i grew up watching all of the old 90210's but i think i like this one. (adam from big brother this season would kill me...haha)

7. parenthood- i love lauren graham anything with her in it and i'll watch. and i think it's funny that there is an adam and sara...although they are brother and sister. this show i will recommend to everyone!

8. all of the csi's- i probably enjoy this show way too much. i'm not psycho. i just love detective shows. if this job wasn't so grueling it would definitely be my career. i know that i would not be able to see all of that stuff on a daily bases and be able to go home and lead a normal life with a family.

9. bones- this is a new obsession in our home! we love this show.

10. rizzoli and isles- this is also a new show to us but so far we really like it. i think we probably watch every cop and detective show! haha.

it probably seems like all we do is watch tv but i swear we are normal and leave the house. sometimes. :]

so it seems like a great time to fill y'all in on some very random facts about me!

1. i LOVE to laugh. whether i'm laughing at myself, or a joke...good or bad, someone falling, list goes on and on.

2. i've been told i'm a really good story teller. i like to make people laugh when i'm telling them stories about my day or whatever. my mom always says i make her laugh the most!

3. i'm obsessed with pumpkin. ANYthing pumpkin....actually it's more like OBSESSED!

4. instead of there being a key to my heart it's actually a handful of sunflowers.

5. i have wanted a dalmatian since i was like 3.

6. i've also wanted an elephant since i was in 4th grade. in junior high my best friend and i had pretend pets. mine was an elephant named bobalita and my friends was a cow named fred. we still talk about them.

7. i'm really good at naming things. my favorite name i've come up with is sissaroo.

8. i've only had 2 cars. both were picked out and bought without my knowledge or opinion.

9. i love anything that has to do with owls because it reminds me of my granny. she's my rock! i love her to death. she'll be 91 next month. she recently broke her hip and her only complainant is that she is really bored.

10. i'm the younger sister but everyone thinks i'm the oldest. maybe because i'm taller?

11. i have 6 tattoos. but i want a bazillion more.

12. i have a cousin with the exact same name. although she has an h on the end of her name.

13. i'm pretty sure i was named after a key chain...is that right mom? if not i have NO idea where i got that idea.

14. i might have a slight obsession with shoes. and now with coach purses.

15. i'm addicted to zebra's. i really really want a pet zebra. i would probably name it spot or dot.

16. looking at this list makes me think of all the teachers who would be so mad that i'm not capitalizing. hahah. i can name all of my teachers from kindergarten. it's crazy how i remember every single name like there will be a quiz once i get to heaven.

17. i love to bake and hate to cook.

18. according to my husband i grew up eating really weird things. like meatspread, tapioca, german pancakes and lefse. but little does he know our kids will grow up eating all of that and loving it and he will be left out.

19. one tree hill is my favorite show. i have every box set!

20. tim mcgraw is my ex husband. haha not really but i wish!

21. i love nail polish. i'm constantly changing it. my toes have had some color of nail polish on them at all times since elementary school. i think my feet are ugly without polish.

22. at one point in time i had 13 piercings. i now only have 10.

23. i've had pancreatitis twice. it's the worst pain EVER!

24. i've been best friends with the same person for 14 years now. we have had many many fights and our parents have grounded us from each other but we have remained friends. our parents pretty much love the other like their own.

25. i've recently found a new scent that i'm loving...coconut vanilla! it's my new fave.

it's that time again. another ten on tuesday plus 1. this week i'm going to list the 11 fall/halloween decorations i'm loving! i want to make all of them this year but some i think would be better once we own a house. so without further ado there they are...all pictures are via pinterest!

1. I really love how there are some branches that have lights on them and the bucket laying on its side spilling out pumpkins.

Subway Art

subway art has been pretty popular for awhile now. i have wanted to make one for a long time now but without a silhouette or circuit i figured it would be pretty hard. and it was. but totally worth it!

basically what i did was pick three fonts i loved. i didn't know how to figure out how big to make each word so i played around and guessed. it worked for the most part. once all of the words were printed out and had the layout i liked i flipped the word over and shaded the entire word with a pencil. then flip it back over place it where you want it to be and trace the word. once you remove the paper you should see the word on your canvas. so i did that with all the words and then painted. it took a few hours but i think it turned out great.

ugh it wont rotate. its saved the correct way. so sorry.

i guess i should give a little info about why i picked these places...

pine bluff, arkansas is where adam and i met.
chicago, illinois- we spent a week here when we first started dating. the city where we fell in love!
nebraska- where we got married and lived the first 4 months of our married life!
ponca city, oklahoma- our favorite little city that was almost halfway between texas and nebraska.
south daokota- we spent adam's 24th birthday here visiting mt. rushmore
texas- where we were born and raised!
savannah, georgia- we spent my 22nd birthday here
alabama- we went camping here one labor day weekend.
houston, texas- most of adam's family lives here and we love to visit them!
peachtree city, georgia- where we live now!
cape girardeau, missouri- adam had a business trip here and i tagged along. also i have family from here.
tennessee- another business trip i tagged along to. we spent valentines in nashville!

work is slow, i hope to start posting more again. i was in a weird funk and wasn't in the mood to craft for awhile. but i'm back!

Chevron Love!

it's no secret that chevron has popped up all over the web. and i'm IN LOVE! i have wanted to use the chevron pattern on something and finally did. i got an ikea dresser off craigslist for $10 and have been dying to paint it. after convincing the hubby that i needed a project while he was out of town for a week, we set off for home depot. $40 later i had everything i need. or so i thought. the hubz wasn't too thrilled that my $10 dressers make over was 4 times it's worth. whoops. this simple project that i thought would take a few hours ended up taking 3 days.

i started off by sanding the drawers.
then i primed them with white paint/primer spray paint.
i used the card stock stencil and started with the dark gray. it wasn't working.
i sanded the two drawers i had started painting and primed them again.
this time i decided to use a card board stencil. much better!
so i had the gray zig zag pattern painted. next i had to re do the white.
then i did the lighter gray paint.
then touched up the dark gray and white again.
then sealed the drawers.

it really wasn't that long of a process but i only worked a few hours each day. it turned out exactly how i wanted. i love it so much! and already want to paint something else with a chevron pattern. :]
